Graduates in the daft hats!

We finally made it! Me and some of my fellow long sufferers. Today was the finale in the four year long course...Graduation! It was great to catch up with everyone! Despite searing temperatures in black gowns it was a great occasion. Good luck to everyone in following their chosen career path. I'm taking a little while to suss mine out, and in the meantime I'm enjoying this fabby weather.
Here is a photo of some of my marras on the great day. Stay in touch everyone. K

A grand day out!

Had a great day out yesterday! Went to Michelham Priory and met up with Annie. It's the first time I've been there, despite it being only half an hour from home. What a lovely place. Nicely tended gardens and a fabulous old house, with a working mill and a forge (very like Batemans which is Rudyard Kiplings old place!)

Anyway took a few photos.

They are having a painting competition at the end of August, using images from within, so I may dust off my watercolours and get painting. There were some interesting sculptures dotted around the grounds too.

We also did lunch and caught up on all of the latest happpenings. And the weather was superb. All in all a grand day out!

Summer's here!

Well that's the holiday to Morocco over! Not quite what I had thought it would be like. Needless to say not a single photograph was taken. It did however leave a lasting impression with all of us! (Moroccan revenge!!).
Anyway at least the weather was good and we seem to have brought it back with us, which made the six loads of washing easy.
Thought I would post a couple of images from my garden. First is the rambling rose 'Bobby James' which has interspersed with Clematis 'Etoile Violette'. The scent is absolutely gorgeous.

Next is Cercis canadensis 'Forest Pansy'. I used this tree in one of the detail design areas. However, this one is in shrub form as it suits my garden. The maroon heart shaped foliage is stunning, especially when the sun shines through it.
